OperationalDavid Ryan has done three tours on the Flying Squad, leading on challenging and sometimes life threatening "crimes in action". He managed covert operations in contract killings and long term infiltrations. For many years, his main specialism has been in hostage negotiation. He trained in the UK and in the United States with the FBI at Quantico, Virginia, became a negotiator co-ordinator, responsible for the deployment of London's negotiators, and part of the Overseas cadre responding to Britons kidnapped overseas. Between tours, he has been a trainer/facilitator at the CID school, now the Crime Academy at Peel Centre Hendon, with specialist subjects that mirror his organised crime involvement. David Ryan was employed by the European Union as an expert, to review the pre-accession states of Hungary, the Czech republic and Romania, in assessing their readiness to comply with European standards of Major Crime investigation techniques and data compliance. Non OperationalHe is an EFQM European Foundation for Quality Manager "Change Manager" routinely bringing into UK Policing contractual income from industry partnerships in excess of half a million pounds per year in cost based effective collaborations. David Ryan has also worked with the Department for Transport, Home Office and DVLA on data management, intelligence and strategic issues, via a contract in the role of Director of Intelligence for DVLA. Over the last 7 years David Ryan has worked with UK and European Banking andPostal and Retail Corporations, ensuring their capability at being able to save lives and work effectively. David Ryan is part of a network of experienced security professionals in the commercial security sector.
